Where can you find the import? (Only for account admins!)
You can find the import in the Samdock settings at the bottom left. Click on the cogwheel in the menu and navigate to Import and Export. After clicking on "Import contacts" the import process will start.

Step 1: Prepare the table for companies
The import starts with the first step, where you have to download the file "Company_Template.xlsx" to your computer.
Once you have done this, open the file "Organization_Template.xlsx" in Excel:
In the opened file you have to enter the contact data of your companies. You will find a legend to the corresponding fields in the first column of the Excel file.
(You can simply ignore or delete this column before the import, it will not be imported automatically).
Depending on how your company data are already available, transfer them into the corresponding fields. Only the fields specified in the Excel file can be imported.
If you copy columns into the template that cannot be assigned by our system, they will simply be ignored during the import.
Now go back to Samdock and click on "next".
Step 2: Import company
In the next step you have to upload this file. To do this, you can either drag the file to the appropriate field or click on "Drag the file in here" and select the file from your files.
As soon as the file has been successfully uploaded, the companies to be imported will be displayed. Here you can check once again if you have correctly assigned the corresponding columns.
When you are satisfied with the result, click on "Confirm".
Step 3: Prepare the table for contacts
In step 3 you have to download the file "Persons_Template.xlsx" to your computer:
Once you have loaded the template, you can first complete the import of the companies to prepare the file "Persons_Template.xlsx" in peace. To do this, simply click on Import without people and complete the import.
To return to step two, you can restart the import at any time. In the step "Prepare your companies" you click on Import without companies in the bottom right corner.
Once you have done this, open the file "Persons_Template.xlsx" in Excel. This new file now has two different tabs:
Under the tab "existingOrganizations" you will find your just uploaded companies and also the companies that were already created in Samdock before.
Under the tab "Persons" you have to enter the contact data of the persons you want to import. Again, you will find a legend for the individual fields.
As soon as you have copied the companies in column O, an organizationID will be displayed in column P. If you import more companies, simply copy the formula in column P until all your contacts have an organizationID.
In case no ID is found, you can check under the tab existing Organizations if you have spelled the company name correctly and if this company already exists in Samdock.
If the company does not appear in the list, you can create it manually and link it to the contact.
Once you have done that, save the file.
Step 4: Check the imported contacts
In the next step you have to upload the file "Persons_Template.xlsx". To do this, you can either drag the file to the appropriate field or click on "Drag the file in here" and select the file from your files.
As soon as the file has been successfully uploaded, you will be shown the people to import. Here you can check again if you have assigned the corresponding companies correctly. You can find the assigned company behind the name of the person.
When you are satisfied with the result, click in Samdock on :
If there is still a mistake, you can go back one step by clicking on the back button and adjust the file if necessary and upload it again.
